Satwa is one of old Dubai's most characterful low-rise neighbourhoods – a tight grid of Filipino, Indian, Pakistani and Emirati spots where locals eat cheap and eat well. Ravi is the name everyone knows, but the whole area rewards wandering. Easiest by car or taxi; limited metro reach.

Satwa is a cash, casual, come-as-you-are part of town. 2nd December Street is the main artery – park nearby and walk. Ravi runs late into the night.
